Participant Requirements: Attendees will be required to have a laptop with audio and a video camera to participate in training.  Each training will be conducted via zoom.com. Instructions to attain zoom login information will be emailed out prior to each training.

Cancellation Policy:  All webinars registrations are final and non-refundable. 
It is the responsibility of the participant to be on time and participate for the entire webinar to earn the 4 CE's. The participant is responsible for their hardware, software, and connectivity to the webinar session.


Treating Substance Abuse in the Sex Addiction Population

Description: 
This training will be an overview of the commonalities of different addictions, how they interact with each other, and being able to identify and begin treating substance use in patients with sexual addiction.  We will review some basic physiology of addiction, addiction interaction disorder, identification and DSM diagnosis of substance use disorders, various levels of care, and treatment modalities and techniques for addressing substance use disorders.

Objectives
:
Upon completion of the this training, participants will be able to:

  • Accurately describe addiction from a brain based disease mode
  • Accurately identify a substance use disorder using DSM criteria
  • Identify how substance use disorders and sexual addiction interact, reinforce pathology, and complicate recovery
  • Identify modalities and techniques for treating substance use disorders for the sexually addicted patients

About Eric J. Webber 

Eric J. Webber is the Clinical Director for the Men’s Relapse Unit, Men’s Phase 2, and the Legal Professionals Program at Caron.  He oversees the daily clinical programming and care of patients, as well as provides direct care through relapse specific lectures and counseling sessions.  He conducts weekly specialty groups, including an Addiction Interaction Disorder group focusing on sex, love, and relationship issues and chemical dependency, a Legal Professional group, and an Executive/Professional group.  Mr. Webber is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and holds a Certificate of Competency in Problem Gambling, both through the Pennsylvania Certification Board; he is also a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Kutztown University and a Master’s Degree from Alvernia University 

This course has been approved by the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals (IITAP, LLC), as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for educational credits. NAADAC Provider #92253.  IITAP is responsible for all aspects of the programing. Training is Live Online for 4 contact hours.
