We are proud to announce our 2019 IITAP® Refresher Webinar Series!  This series consists of 8 live interactive training webinars.  The 8 webinars are scheduled during October & November 2019 and are facilitated by IITAP's core CSAT® Faculty. Each webinar awards (4) IITAP CE’s and up to 3.5 CE’s for other Approved Continuing Education Providers (ACEP) and Sponsor organizations (APA) as identified within the Continuing Education Section below.

This webinar is limited to 40 participants only.

Participant Requirements: Attendees will be required to have a laptop with audio and a video camera to participate in training.  Each training will be conducted via zoom.com. Instructions to attain zoom login information will be emailed out prior to each training.  Each participant is required to complete the evaluation at the end of each webinar to receive their Certificate of Completion and CE’s.   It is the responsibility of the participant to be on time and participate for the entire webinar to earn CE's. The participant is responsible for their hardware, software, and connectivity to the webinar session.

Critical Issues Moving Forward with CSAT Certificate

There are, of course, a number of critical issues that CSATs should be aware of going forward to better equip them to manage cases successfully. Three topics that we will cover in this refresher are the role of transference and counter-transference in successful and unsuccessful cases; helping couples move beyond the addiction and partner trauma models and into vulnerability again; and the role of family system dynamics in sex addiction, with an emphasis on the role of enmeshment. Participants should be prepared to participate in experiential exercises and discuss relevant cases. 

Objectives:

  • Identify the role of transference and countertransference in treating sex addicts and partners. 
  • Explain the importance of viewing couple’s recovery from an attachment repair model.
  • Describe the structural family system model.
  • Assess for the role of enmeshment in sex addiction and couple’s recovery.

About Dr. Kenneth Adams: 

Kenneth M. Adams, Ph.D., CSAT-S Dr. Adams is a licensed psychologist and internationally recognized expert in treating trauma-induced intimacy and addictive disorders and the author of Silently Seduced, and When He’s Married to Mom. He currently co-facilitates Modules 1 and 4 of the Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Training and is the facilitator of the How To Build A Successful Sex Addiction Practice Workshop
