Erotic Intelligence Case Consultation

Couples in recovery from sexual addiction who have suffered the arduous work of a formal disclosure process, and are in the repair stage of their relationship, are looking to mend their sex lives. But once a couple is moving toward secure functioning, they don’t necessarily find greater sexual satisfaction. They often report being “friends” again with a “better” marriage due to greater transparency, but the impact of betrayal makes the road to restoring a sex life painful and bumpy due to shattered attachment and, sometimes, an enduring lack of trust. Those in long-term, committed relationships can have difficulty creating and maintaining sexual desire and arousal. This condition is a major challenge of recovery and requires intentional work and commitment on the part of the couple. This webinar will examine the underlying features of sexual desire to bridge the gap between, and create tolerance of, sexual desire differences in the couple.
Participants will be asked to email cases to Dr. Katehakis for use in the case consultation process. Cases will be chosen based on the thoroughness of write-ups; a variety of cases that represent typical problems will be preferentially selected. Participants whose cases are chosen should be prepared to work closely with Dr. Katehakis on their cases in this live forum. Once participants register for this course, explicit case presentation instructions will be emailed by IITAP.
