These webinars are not included in the Webinar Pick 4 Bundles.

Participant Requirements:
Attendees will be required to have a laptop with audio and a video camera to participate in training.  Each training will be conducted via zoom.com. Instructions to attain zoom login information will be emailed out prior to each training.

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected us all in stages. It has been compared to the stages of grief. For some COVID-19 has triggered a trauma reaction, awakening an old trauma response and addiction relapse. Learn techniques to stay grounded and present effectively. Learn techniques to regulate emotions. This will lessen the fight or flight response and prepare clients for deeper trauma processing.

 

Objectives:
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

 

  1. Learn to recognize Dissociation. Learn effective grounding techniques and stay in  the window of tolerance. 
  2.  Learn techniques to help regulate emotions and lessen the fight or flight response to COVID-19.
  3. Discuss how individuals have reacted to the pandemic and how past trauma is triggered. 

About Joelle Ottoson, LCSW, ICS, CSAC, CSAT, CSAOT

Joelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and Independent Clinical Supervisor and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Joelle is a Certified EMDR therapist and EMDR Consultant in training and Trained in the Flash technique. Joelle has been working in the mental health and substance abuse field since 1991. She has also received training in smoking cessation. She is a member of NASW and EMDRIA. Joelle has been involved in research on relapse of substance abuse, smoking, and research on AODA treatment for pregnant women. Her experience includes working with children, adolescents and adults. Joelle enjoys helping couples and families strengthen their relationships using innovative techniques that have long term effects. She works extensively with teens and adults with substance abuse, sex addiction and process addictions, relational trauma, codependency, adult children of Alcoholics and dysfunctional families and co-occurring mental health issues such as: post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, phobias, adjustment disorders and attention/hyper activity disorder. Long term benefits are achieved by exploring the root cause of issues. Lessening symptoms is achieved when past trauma and stress is cleared at the cellular level using techniques based in neuroscience such as EMDR, mindfulness, relaxation, breathing and Esogetic Colorpuncture. This allows the person to find their inner strength and true spirit to move forward on their life path. Joelle is also a 200RYT certified Yoga Instructor and Reiki Practitioner. Joelle is also trained in past life regression therapy. Joelle is also a Certified Esogetic Colorpuncture Practitioner. Joelle is committed to continuing education in the effects of trauma and addiction on the mind body and spirit. Joelle provides outpatient individual, groups for Partners of Sexual Addiction and groups for Substance Abuse, family and couples therapy as well as individualized intensives.
