IITAP would encourage you to continue with your CSAT training as the knowledge and assessment tools that you learn in the CSAT training will be very beneficial for working with the addict and the partner. The CPTT training does focus specifically on the betrayed partner but having a well-rounded education for both parties will be excellent education for your practice.

As a CSAT-Candidate, you will have access to all assessments on recoveryzone.com. This includes the SDI 4.0, PTSI-R, MAWASI, and IPAST. The CPTT will have access solely to the PTSI-R and IPAST.

While the Mod 2 training goes into detail on betrayal trauma work the CPTT training will go even deeper. This includes in-depth topics such as:

  • Partners complex trauma and betrayal trauma

  • Assessment training and building a healthy foundation

  • Formal disclosure and including boundaries and safety prep

  • Adjunct support/group therapy

  • An in-depth overview of IPAST and PTSI-R

  • Couples therapy

  • Practical applications

  • Ethical dilemmas

  • Small group exercises/activities

Each module will qualify for 20 IITAP CEs as well as the CEs that IITAP is accredited to give.

Yes, we will be offering more CPTT trainings in the future. The goal would be to do multiple in a year similar to CSAT trainings.

If you choose to do both CSAT and CPTT training at the same time IITAP would extend the 2019 only CSAT discount and supervision requirements. This means a candidate would be required to take 30 hours total of supervision (for both CSAT and CPTT).

No, if you are a CSAT or CSAT Candidate in good standing you would not be required to fill out the application form.

Similar to the CSAT Listserv, the CPTT participants will have a seperate Listserv solely for those who are attending the CPTT modules.
